This is a public service announcement (PSA) that aims to raise awareness and educate the public on the Malaysian Deaf community through the “BIM Sign It” mobile application, which is designed for the ease communication with the Deaf using technology from SignAll, as well as to encourage people to learn hand signing as a “language.” BIM is the abbreviation for Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia, thus the name of the app. This campaign intended to address the following problem statements: (1) hearing people’s lack of relevant knowledge and education in communicating with the Deaf; and (2) the ineffectiveness and limitations of the existing sign language mobile application.

Essentially, it is also to highlight the ignorance of the public and to defeat the social stigma against the Deaf community.
