Prior to this, Hoe worked as a sub-editor for a Chinese newspaper as well as an editorial assistant for reference books and was also an artist for a magazine. Then on one fateful night, Hoe had the chance to witness the Kancil Awards presentation, and that inspired him to create good ads after he graduated from University of Malaya with a degree in Mathematics. And in 1998, Hoe finally joined AMP Radio Networks’ creative team. He subsequently used The Air Awards, Kancil Awards, MC2 Awards, LongXi International Chinese Creative Awards, Times International Chinese Advertising Awards, New York Festival and Red Ribbon Media Award as plat forms to show that AMP can in fact be a creative force to be reckoned with.
