48 creative luminaries join forces to create Kancil’s largest jury ever

With seven international and forty-one local judges coming together for this year’s judging, this is by far the largest line-up of jurors ever assembled in the history of the Kancil Awards. This massive gathering of creative talents spanning the region serves to elevate and enhance the prestige of the 2009 Kancil Awards.

“In most years, the Kancils have had 30 or so jurors. But this year, the larger panel is necessary as the ten new categories require more specialists within each discipline. This also reflects the call for a larger representation of an award body which has grown to include over 100 member agencies,” said SP Lee, Jury Chairman of the Kancil Awards 2009, who is also the Managing Director and Executive Creative Director of Dentsu Malaysia.

International award-winning heavy-weights such as Thirasak Tanapatanakul of Creative Juice Thailand, Tay Guan Hin of JWT Singapore, Agnello Dias of Taproot India, Andy Blood of TBWA\Whybin\Tequila Auckland, Dirk Eschenbacher of Tribal DDB China, Spencer Wong of McCann Erickson China and Richard Yu of Bates 141 Taiwan, will be joining our local experts in the arduous task of judging so that only the best of the best creative effectiveness will be celebrated and acknowledged.

As such, the awards organizers wholeheartedly encourages more solid work for big clients with the optimism that the awards will reflect greater relevance to the big-brand campaigns that have strong ideas which resonates with the public.

“Communication has become far more complex, employing all manner of media and technology to sway and persuade an increasingly discerning public. For all these reasons, we are eager to see what this highly competitive industry has to show for a whole year of late-night slogs,” added SP Lee.
